ATTENTION Commissioner Stern: Please Stop!

June 16th, 2008 ChiroGuyDC Posted in Basketball, Boston, Celtics, Crime, Gambling, NBA No Comments »

Here is an interesting stat from our fair and unbiased NBA Finals thus far.

Personal fouls:

_____________________________________

Game 1 - 29-22 (Lakers with more fouls)

Game 2 - 28-21 (Lakers)

Game 3 - 28-23 (Boston)

Game 4 - 24-23 (Boston)

Game 5 - 28-28 (Push)

_____________________________________

This stat in itself might not be as obvious until one realizes that prior to Game 4,

“on June 10, 2008, Donaghy’s attorney filed a court document alleging, among other things, that Game 6 of the 2002 Western Conference Finals between the Los Angeles Lakers and Sacramento Kings was fixed by two referees. The letter states that Donaghy “learned from Referee A that Referees A and F wanted to extend the series to seven games.”

So, it seems hard for me to believe that the refs weren’t affecting the outcome of games because now it seems pretty obvious when you look at the cold hard evidence above that they are now forcibly keeping it even. Please comment if you disagree, because I want to be proven wrong, I want to believe that the NBA isn’t one big charade.

The corruption of professional sports rears its ugly head once again! Thanks a lot David Stern for obliterating what was once a great sport to watch.

Week 13 picks

November 29th, 2007 Nutter Posted in Cowboy, Gambling, NFL, Odds, Picks, Sports, football, predictions 2 Comments »

As you may have noticed, the blogs been a little slow this week.  My partner, Ken Goyette, is away on his 31st Disney vacation this week.  The guy doesn’t go anywhere else.  Take what you will away from that.

Anyways, in between classes I’m here to make my pick for tonight’s NFL game, the 10-1 Packers at the 10-1 Cowboys.  The line, taken from the NY Post as always, has the Cowboys favored by 7.  Brett Farve I believe is 0-10 lifetime at Dallas, so the law of averages has to come into play right?  Right?

I’ll take the Cowboys, even though I’ll be rooting for the Packers.  The Packers are a little too banged up on defense to hang with the Cowboys, who seem to be getting stronger on offense as the season goes on.

The rest of my picks will be up in a day or 2.

A day late but well worth the wait!  Another week, another lock of the week blows up in my face.  Last week I went a promising 8-6-2, my first winning record of 2007!  Hey, at least I haven’t had a losing record yet.  Anyway, my record for the season now stands at 21-19-6.  This is the week I bust out, I can feel it.  Lets make some money, GO TEAM!

As always the spread is taken from the nypost.com, home team is in CAPS, and I list my pick first.  Any questions?  On to the picks!

Ken Nutters week 3 picks

September 22nd, 2007 Nutter Posted in Gambling, Sports, football, predictions No Comments »

Another week, more picks.  If you listened to me last week you went 7-7-2 and still had to pay.  Sorry about that.   My lock of the week really blew up in my face and the Saints keep messing with my head.  For the season I am a very mediocre 13-13-4.  Ugh.   Well, without any more delay lets go to my week 3 picks!

As always the spread is taken from nypost.com, home teams are in CAPS, and my pick will be listed first.  Got it?

REDSKINS -3.5 over Giants…. After the last 2 weeks I’m convinced this blog staff can score against the Giants.

Week 3 picks

September 19th, 2007 Frank Posted in Gambling, NFL, Sports, football 1 Comment »

I don’t do spreads and stuff so I’ll do it up Berman style.

-Between what is one of the top 2 CB tandems in the league, and a solid front seven the Ravens will be all over the Cards from the get go. They’ll go into the half with the lead then spend the whole 4th quarter running the ball once it’s apparent that Leinart can’t find Fitzgerald and Boldin with a team of blood hounds and a GPS system. Baltimore 23-10.
