This is going to be my last post in a while about Convict Vick, but I just have to post after reading the most ridiculous letter written by Vick, his family, and “friends”. Read the story at ESPN.com
Vick goes on and on about why he did this, and he is sorry, why he smoked pot when he was awaiting sentcing for dog fighting charges, but you know what’s missing in his letter. Him actual taking any repsosiblity, hey Mike, your dad did stick the joint to your face, I’m sorry you were depressed, go get some help. His mother says the crowd he grew up with could have made him a lot worse, he has a lot on his shoulders. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?
Vick says he loves animals, but grew up in a culture where dog fighting was ok. Was slamming the dogs to the ground ok, was eletrocuding them okay, and if this was all ok, why did you hide it Mike?
Hank Aaron chimes in, he says that Mike was good for Atlanta, he did a lot for underprivileged kids, I doubt he was very good for the dogs though. Great he did charity work, that doesn’t make you immune to the law. Who is Aaron anyway, why do we look to him for an opinon about whats right, and whats wrong, he hit a bunch of home runs thats it. I really love how they bring up all the charity he did, like that makes it ok for him to break the law. We should institute thing, if you do 15 hours community service a month you can break one minor law. Does that make any sense?
Vick still faces state charges, and I hope they convict him of that too. I do think at some point he deserves a second chance, but he needs to pay for breaking the law, and should not get off easy because he was an ok guy before that did charity work.
