ATTENTION Commissioner Stern: Please Stop!

Here is an interesting stat from our fair and unbiased NBA Finals thus far.

Personal fouls:

_____________________________________

Game 1 - 29-22 (Lakers with more fouls)

Game 2 - 28-21 (Lakers)

Game 3 - 28-23 (Boston)

Game 4 - 24-23 (Boston)

Game 5 - 28-28 (Push)

_____________________________________

This stat in itself might not be as obvious until one realizes that prior to Game 4,

“on June 10, 2008, Donaghy’s attorney filed a court document alleging, among other things, that Game 6 of the 2002 Western Conference Finals between the Los Angeles Lakers and Sacramento Kings was fixed by two referees. The letter states that Donaghy “learned from Referee A that Referees A and F wanted to extend the series to seven games.”

So, it seems hard for me to believe that the refs weren’t affecting the outcome of games because now it seems pretty obvious when you look at the cold hard evidence above that they are now forcibly keeping it even. Please comment if you disagree, because I want to be proven wrong, I want to believe that the NBA isn’t one big charade.

The corruption of professional sports rears its ugly head once again! Thanks a lot David Stern for obliterating what was once a great sport to watch.

Pretty strong words

November 29th, 2007 Nutter Posted in Crime, NFL, R.I.P, Sean Taylor No Comments »

Arizona Cardinals DB Antrel Rolle made some pretty strong statements about the murder of his friend and former U of Miami teammate Sean Taylor, saying he believes Taylor was targeted and murdered.  Read it all here at SI.com

What do you think?  It’s well known he did have some enemies on the streets of Miami.  Could this be just a random act?  I doubt it and I hope the police can get to the bottom of this.

Even more trouble for Vick

September 26th, 2007 Nutter Posted in Crime, Michael Vick No Comments »

So Micheal Vick tested positive for marijuana from a sample he submitted September 13.  That was a week ago!  How dumb can one guy be?  This should only hurt him at the sentencing and in the eyes of Commissioner Goodell.

Vick in more trouble

September 25th, 2007 Goyette Posted in Crime, Michael Vick, NFL, vick No Comments »

In a mildly surprising move, Surry County Commonwealth Attorney Gerald Poindexter, has brought up two more charges against Vick, involving dog fighting.  The thought was because of the plea deal on federal charges Vick would be able to avoid Start charges, oops.  To read more about this go to  CNN.com

Another sports related crime

NEW YORK — Houston Rockets guard Rafer Alston was released without bail on Tuesday after being charged with stabbing a man at a Manhattan nightspot — his second brush with the law this month.

Read this story at ESPN.com

This guy starts off with the And-1 team, traveling around to neighborhood basketball courts and small arenas, then ends up in the NBA earning millions.  Why does he have to stab someone outside a nightclub.  These people have enough money to hire drivers and bodyguards, I don’t understand why this continues to happen.  If I had the money I would never drive again.

Vick pleads gulity!

Next week we will find out how long Mike Vick will spend behind bars.  Word on the streets is the prosecution is looking for 12-36 months, while Vicks defense team was looking at a measley 6 months in the clink.

Wether its 3 years or 3 months, his NFL career has to be over, right?  This is a man who willingly bred dogs for the mere “entertainment” of watching them fight and basically kill each other.  A man who then participated in the brutal killings of the dogs who didnt preform satisfactory in said fights.   How could he come back to the league?

Vick not only killed dogs, he killed the Atlanta Falcons, and quite possibly new coach Bobby Pietrinos NFL coaching career.   The team sent highy regarded backup Matt Schaub to the Texans and went out and signed career underachiever Joey Harrington to take his place.  Harrington now becomes the starter and the Falcons go from playoff team to lottery team.  This will take the Falcons a few years to recover from, not the idea owner Aurther Blank had when he signed Vick to a 10 year $130 million dollar contract.

So what team will take a chance on Vick in 2-3 years if he is allowed to come back to play in the NFL?  Will there be a team deperate enough to sign a quaterback with a career 75.7 QB rating, knowing what kind of circus will follow him into town?  PETA is not going to foget what he did in a few years.  Neither will the humaine society or the millions of dog owners/lovers around this country.  Practices and games will be sights for protests and rallys against cruelty to animals.  What owner needs that distraction when his team is just trying to prepare for the season.

So Vick goes to jail for a year or so, loses over $100 million dollars, and isn’t allowed back in the NFL.  Id say that is fair.

What do you say?

Javon Walker tells HBO of night that Williams was killed

August 12th, 2007 Goyette Posted in Crime, Javon Walker, Sports, football No Comments »

Javon Walker was on HBO’s Real Sports Tuesday, and spoke about the night that Darrent Williams was killed. This is a really good article at SI.com, which gives you the run down of the interview, a bit sad.
