So it’s over.  The Ryan for Heisman campaign was officially ended last Saturday night.  In a cold and wet Alumni Stadium, The then ranked #2 BC Eagles lost a heart-breaker to unranked Florida State 27-17.  And even though our hero Ryan threw for 2 TD’s and 415 yards, he ended up tossing THREE, yes THREE interceptions.  Three bad interceptions.  Heisman winners don’t throw 11 interceptions on the season, which is how many #12 has now.

Not all is lost for Ryan and his #8 Eagles.  They now shift their sights to winning out and securing a spot in the ACC championship game, and a BCS bowl berth.  The trek continues tonight at Maryland at 8PM on ABC.

Last week #12 led the now ranked #3 BC Eagles into South Bend and to a 27-14 victory over Notre Dame.  Ryan completed 32 of 49 passes for 291 yards with 2 TD’s and 1 INT.  For the season, Ryan has completed 192 of 304 passes for 2,148 yards while tossing 17 TD’s to 6 INT’s.

The Eagles get a much needed break this weekend and prepare to travel down to Blacksburg, VA to take on ACC powerhouse Virgina Tech next Thursday, October 25th at 7:30pm.

Also this week, Ryan topped ESPN’s Heisman candidates list, comes in #2 at MSNBC, and still number 3 at scout.com.

Another week, another big game for #12.  Last week the now ranked #4 BC Eagles crushed Bowling Green University 55-24 at home in Chestnut Hill.

Last week, Ryan completed 24 of 32 passes for 312 and 4 TD’s.  Ryan also had 1 carry for 8 yards and for the second straight week no INT’s.  This puts Ryan’s number for the season at 160 of 255 passes completed for a total of 1857 yards with 15 TD’s and 5 INT’s.  He has logged 1 rushing TD as well.

Matt has also been getting more and more national media hype in the past few weeks and is now a legitimate Heisman hopeful.  MSNBC had #12 ranked 2nd on their Heisman list , ESPN lists Matt 4th, and Foxsports has him listed in their top 5.

This week Ryan leads the #4 ranked BC Eagles into South Bend to play the 1-5 Fighting Irish of Notre Dame.  The game can be seen on NBC at 3:30PMthis Saturday October 13th.  Go Eagles!!!!!
