Barry Bonds has been indicted

Breaking news off the wire, it seems as though Barry Bonds has been indicted of perjury and obstruction of justice.  This is the result of a four year federal investigation, into whether he lied under oath to a grand jury looking into steroid use by elite athletes.  Yet another black mark from a cheater, that is slowly attempting to take a sport down with him.  Why doesn’t he just retire, even if he doesn’t get convicted, the court of public opinion has already passed judgment.  I wonder if this announcement had any baring on the Mitchell report not yet being released.

Barry Bonds record becomes a bigger joke

September 26th, 2007 Goyette Posted in 756, Barry Bonds, baseball No Comments »

Barry Bond’s 756th Homerun ball has had its fate decided, and its one we were all hoping for.  As many of you know Marc Ecko won the ball with a bid of about 750,000  has left it up to visitors of a website to decide on what will happen to the ball, and the fans have decided, an Asterisk it is.

Ecko is working with the Hall of Fame to have the ball placed there, after of course said Asterisk.  Hall of Fame President Dale Petroskey has said, “We’re happy to get it, we’re a nonprofit history museum, so this ball wouldn’t be coming to Cooperstown without Marc Ecko buying it from the fan who caught it.”

Ecko announced the decision on the Today show, and said he will be working with the Hall over the next few days to get it to them.

I for one think this is great, I can’t wait to see it sit there in the Hall with a big asterisk on it.

Mark Ecko wins 756

September 17th, 2007 Goyette Posted in 756, Barry Bonds, baseball No Comments »

Fashion designer Mark Ecko won the auction for Barry Bonds 756th home run ball, and he is doing something unique with it. If you go to this site he is allowing the public to decide what to do with the ball. There are three choices; 1.) Give the ball to the Hall of Fame, 2.) Blast the ball into space, or 3.) Brand the ball with an Asterisk. I voted for 1, only because I think it belongs in the Hall, maybe with an asterisk on it. Let me hear your thoughts.

Barry Bonds calls Ecko an idiot.
